The Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea held virtual talks between the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Alimov, the First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Karakalpakstan V. Jollybekov and the CEO of CARIS Co., Ltd. Yu Cheol. The meeting was also attended by senior officials and employees of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
V. Jollybekov noted that today great importance is attached to the implementation of the project for construction of a modern cement plant in Beruniy district of Karakalpakstan. He noted the readiness of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan to provide all possible assistance in the timely implementation and management of this investment project.
Sh. Alimov informed about the completion of the geological exploration on the proposed South Korean side of the territory in Beruniy district. Taking into account the importance of the new project, this work was carried out in an expedited manner and the results of the exploration were transferred to CARIS Co., Ltd. in accordance with the previously reached agreements. The State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources will begin activities to prepare a feasibility study for the project.
Yu Cheol, expressing gratitude to the Uzbek side for the assistance provided and the prompt elaboration of all issues, noted that his company is interested in the high-quality and successful implementation of the project in Karakalpakstan. He announced the readiness of representatives of his company in Tashkent to start an active phase of work on this project.
