TASHKENT, January 14. /“Dunyo” IA/. The production of diesel fuel of ecological categories Euro-4 and Euro-5 has been launched in Uzbekistan for the first time, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the Ministry of Energy, this became possible due to the replacement of the catalyst at the gas oil hydrotreating unit at Bukhara Oil Refinery with the most modern type.
At present, fuel in Uzbekistan fully meets international standards and has become an export-oriented product. In 2020, 85.9 thousand tons of Euro-3, 4, 5 diesel fuel were produced and delivered to consumers.
Last year, Bukhara Oil Refinery produced 843.9 thousand tons of gasoline, the amount of which was the highest in its 23-year history.
For the first time in the history of the oil and gas industry, the sale of petroleum products was introduced based on holistic market principles. A new stage of cooperation with local scientists was also established. Production of local adsorbent UzAD-1 was introduced instead of the adsorbent SAS-851 (France) with the assistance of the Chemical Pharmaceuticals Research Institute of Uzbekistan.
The first step was taken towards the implementation of the project “Modernization and reconstruction of Bukhara Oil Refinery”. Thus, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Uzbekneftegaz JSC, Honeywell UOP (United States) and SK E&C (South Korea).
