Uzbekistan, Israel parliamentary groups confirm their commitment to enhancing collaboration

Inter-Parliamentary Group of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on Cooperation with Israel’s Knesset, led by the Head of the Friendship Group Ilkhom Abdullayev, has held the first virtual meeting with Israeli parliamentarians. 

The event was attended by the Chairman of “Israel – Uzbekistan” Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Andrey Kozhinov, as well as the heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan and Israel.
 
At the meeting, concern was expressed about the scale of the spread of coronavirus in the world. The parties informed each other about the measures being taken in both countries to counter this global threat. The special role of parliamentarians in the fight against coronavirus, aimed at preventing the negative consequences of the pandemic, was emphasized.
 
The parties noted the importance of deepening inter-parliamentary ties in enhancing cooperation, since they play an important role in ratification of international treaties for further strengthening cooperation in all areas.
 
Following the meeting, the parties came to a common opinion on the need for enhancing partnership between the two countries in water management, the agro-industrial sector, information technologies, start-up entrepreneurship and other spheres.
