Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov has met with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Kim Sang-hee, in Seoul.
The parties noted the need for conducting joint measures to gradually expand parliamentary diplomacy and accelerate the development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea, taking into account trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian partnership. The strategic importance of cooperation affecting the economic and social development of the two countries was emphasized.
The coordinating role of associations and societies of friendship and cooperation operating in the parliaments of the two countries was noted.
An agreement was reached on a close study of Korean experience in jurisprudence in order to use advanced legislative mechanisms to strengthen parliamentary control over the activities of the executive branch, regulating state relations with business and investors.
The parties agreed to unite inter-parliamentary and intergovernmental actions in order to effectively implement the agreements reached, as well as to further improve the forms and mechanisms of mutual cooperation.
