KUALA LUMPUR, August 13. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met with the newly appointed Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Malaysian Parliament Azhar Azizan Harun, via videoconference, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The parties discussed the state and priority directions of further development of Uzbekistan – Malaysia interaction.
The Malaysian side highly appreciates the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at further liberalization and modernization of the economy, improvement of public administration and the judicial-legal sphere.
The Speaker also welcomed the systematic work carried out in the country to improve the national electoral legislation and practice in accordance with generally accepted international standards.
Following the talks, the parties reached an agreement on further enhancing cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, including through the exchange of visits in the post-pandemic period.
