Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 1 September 2021, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia launched a festive action on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. As part of the celebration of the anniversary, a number of symbolic sights of the capital of Malaysia were transformed into the colors of the national flag of Uzbekistan.

Among the famous locations of the city of Kuala Lumpur, which congratulated the Uzbek people on the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, there is a new pedestrian bridge "Saloma Link", a high-rise building of the city hall of the capital, as well as the central intersection, where the famous twin towers "Petronas Twin Towers" are located.

The Saloma Link pedestrian bridge, opened in the business district of the capital in 2020, in a short time managed to become a symbol of dynamic Malaysia and a new place of attraction for residents and visitors of Kuala Lumpur. The shape of the bridge, which resembles a palm branch, is inspired by the traditional Malay composition of betel nut leaves. The bridge is illuminated with over 4,000 special façade panels and state-of-the-art LED parts.

The span of the bridge is 69 meters and passes over the expressway and the Klang River, which flows into the Strait of Malacca, which is one of the most important maritime arteries in the world along with the Suez and Panama Canals. It is the main route between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, connecting the most populated regions of the world - South, Southeast and Northeast Asia.

The second location - Kuala Lumpur City Hall is located in the heart of Malaysia - Dataran Merdeka Independence Square. By the way, in this area on August 31, 1957, Malaysia was declared an independent country. The facade of the city administration building is the largest LED screen in Malaysia with parameters of 90 meters by 30 meters.

The third location is located at the busy intersection of the central streets of Kuala Lumpur opposite the most recognizable and most visited symbol of Malaysia - the famous Petronas Twin Towers. It is there, on a large-format and high-quality screen, during the week that videos dedicated to the rich cultural heritage of the country and modern architecture of Uzbekistan with congratulations on the significant date in the republic will be shown. Thus, the action also serves to popularize Uzbek culture and promote the tourism potential of our country among the Malaysian public.

It should be noted that this initiative of the embassy was implemented jointly with the Malaysian side at no cost. Thus, the Malaysian authorities joined in congratulating our country on the 30th anniversary of independence.

The action caught the attention of the general public in Malaysia, revitalizing the city, which has been in a continuous total lockdown for the past four months.

The unique event in particular mobilized compatriots in Malaysia, who took an active part and shared their impressions and wishes on the occasion of the holiday.
