Online talks have taken place between the head of Uzbekistan Mission to the European Union, Dilyor Khakimov, and the Member of the European Parliament, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, who is the Special Rapporteur for Uzbekistan of the third largest Renew Europe political group in the European Parliament.
At the event, views were exchanged on the current state and prospects for development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU. The parties praised the level of relations that cover the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The interlocutor praised the constructive regional policy of the leadership of the country, thanks to which a new political atmosphere in Central Asia and favorable conditions for mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of the region was established.
The parties emphasized the decisive measures taken by Uzbekistan Government to counter the spread of coronavirus infection. Thanks to timely and effective actions, the spread of the pandemic was prevented.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on a number of joint activities in Brussels, including a long-term contact plan.
