Abu Ali ibn Sina’s works – heritage of the world

International Scientific Enlightenment Videoconference has taken place on “Abu Ali ibn Sina – the pride of Uzbekistan and the heritage of the world”.

 

The event, organized by Ibn Sina Public Foundation, was timed to the 1040th Anniversary of Abu Ali ibn Sina’s (Avicenna) birth, an outstanding scientist and thinker of the medieval East.
 
The conference was attended by representatives of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, “Milliy Tiklanish” Democratic Party, the Agency for Youth Affairs, the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, the National University, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Westminster University, Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina, Tashkent State Dental Institute, Tashkent Medical Academy, Samarkand State Medical Institute, Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Reikhan Beruni, specialized boarding schools of young biologists and chemists named after Abu Ali ibn Sina, leading specialists and experts of Avicenna from Germany, Belgium, France, Israel, India, Turkey and Uzbekistan from among traditional healers, physicians, pharmacists, historians, orientalists, philosophers, biologists, chemists, the public and the media.
 
It was emphasized that at present the international community is showing particular interest in studying the works of our great compatriot, the encyclopedic scientist Abu Ali ibn Sina, for the subsequent application of his discoveries in modern medicine and science.
 
At the conference, 17 scientific specialists, including 6 foreign speakers, delivered speeches. They noted the relevance and importance of studying the rich and multifaceted heritage of Abu Ali ibn Sina, the need to adapt it to modern science and the needs of life.
 
Following the videoconference, a resolution was adopted, which noted its relevance, scientific, cultural and political significance, the need for state support and funding for research activities to study the multifaceted scientific heritage of Abu Ali ibn Sina.
