The President of Uzbekistan meets with heads of foreign delegations in Budapest

/«Dunyo» IA/. Yesterday, on the sidelines of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of state, views were exchanged on the current issues of bilateral practical cooperation.

The leaders watched the Men’s 100m Final at the World Athletics Championships.

The 19th World Athletics Championships is taking place at the new National Athletics Center in Budapest from 19 to 27 August 2023. Medals are awarded in 49 types of the program – 24 types for men and women, as well as in the mixed relay. More than 2,000 athletes from over 190 countries are taking part in the competition.

Five athletes from Uzbekistan are also participating in the championships in the high jump, triple jump, long jump, heptathlon, and marathon.

The championships winners and athletes who have fulfilled the Olympic standards will be eligible to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
