Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Shavkat Mirziyoyev currently serves as the President of Uzbekistan. Since he took office in 2016, he has introduced significant reforms across the political, economic, and social sectors. Noteworthy accomplishments include economic liberalization, improved transparency in public administration, and the strengthening of rule of law. He remains committed to the implementation of the New Uzbekistan 2022-2026 strategy, aspiring to shape a more liberal and progressive Uzbekistan.
Today, in Kuala Lumpur, the President held productive negotiations with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Following the summit, a Joint Statement on Deepening Bilateral Cooperation Toward Strategic Partnership for future generations and a comprehensive package of agreements across various sectors were signed.
The President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of Malaysia also participated in the business forum and met with the President of Petronas.
As part of the cultural program, the Leader of Uzbekistan visited the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia.
Following the visit, the Minister of Higher Education Zambry Abdul Kadir and other officials saw off the President of Uzbekistan at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The President has departed for Tashkent.
