Experts discuss improving the quality of general secondary education in Uzbekistan

The Republican Education Center under the Ministry of Public Education in partnership with UNICEF has organized an international virtual conference on “Improving the quality of general secondary education: Content, methodology, assessment and learning environment”. The Conference aimed at sharing advanced international experiences with the teachers and specialists in Uzbekistan and thus encouraging them to experiment with modern school curricula and pedagogy.

Education policymakers, teachers from the regions of Uzbekistan as well as international experts discussed various issues of development of the National Curriculum, pedagogy and assessments for general secondary education.
 
Based on the best international practices and applying the international standards, participants revised content and instructional time of subjects, discussed the ways and new approaches to improve the quality of textbooks and literature, and deliberated on the development and implementation of alternative curricula for general secondary education. International experts shared the best global practices and made recommendations on improving the quality of general secondary education in Uzbekistan.
 
The event had generated high level of enthusiasm that around 2,500 papers on improving the quality of general secondary education were submitted to be considered for the conference. Among them, 200 articles are short-listed to be included in the e-collection of conference materials and will be posted on the official websites and social media platforms of the Ministry of Public Education and the Republican Education Center.
