Uzbekistan, Malaysia discuss cooperation issues in protection and development of competition

The leadership of Antimonopoly Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) held virtual talks.

The videoconference from the Uzbek side was attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov and the First Deputy Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee Bobir Karimov, from the Malaysian side – the CEO of MyCC Iskandar Ismail.
 
The parties exchanged views on improving lawmaking in the field of competition, combating abuse of dominance, collusion and cartel agreements, carrying out surprise inspections of monopoly companies, organizing joint thematic events, including conducting a competitive analysis in the commodity and financial markets.
 
Following the negotiations, agreements were reached on the organization of regular videoconferences between the leadership of the Antimonopoly Committee and Malaysia Competition Commission to exchange experience in areas of mutual interest.
 
The parties also agreed on the implementation of personnel exchange, in particular, sending employees of the Antimonopoly Committee to MyCC in the post-pandemic period to improve their skills in ensuring and developing market competitiveness.
