Uzbekistan and Italy consider proposals for holding joint bilateral events

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 December 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Luigi Di Maio, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the second ministerial conference in the format “Italy - Central Asia".

The parties, noting with satisfaction the effectiveness of the second ministerial meeting, stressed that this format has significant potential for the development of multifaceted and sustainable cooperation between Italy and the countries of the region in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, educational and scientific fields.

At the meeting, proposals were considered for holding joint bilateral events, including the 7th meeting of the Uzbek-Italian Intergovernmental Working Group on Trade, Economic and Industrial Cooperation and Export Loans in Tashkent in 2022.

Mutual readiness was expressed to further strengthen the inter-parliamentary dialogue, intensify interregional cooperation, in particular between the Samarkand region and the Lombardy region, expand the legal framework, and increase mutual tourist flows.

Special attention was paid to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Italy in 2022 through joint events.

The talks also considered issues of interaction between the two countries within the framework of international organizations.
