TASHKENT, February 13. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the meeting, the work of the internal affairs bodies in combating crime, ensuring public safety and preventing offenses was critically examined.

“We have created all the conditions for the work of law enforcement agencies, providing them with the most modern equipment. They have the necessary authority, powers and means. But the result is not as expected. There is no consistency in the activities of the bodies. They fail to properly establish vertical management. And our people are not satisfied with their work”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The need was noted for the correct organization of work to ensure order and discipline, respect for laws, peace of the population, first of all, starting with mahallas. As a result of measures taken in this direction last year, not a single crime was recorded in more than 4.5 thousand mahallas. At the same time, it was noted that many leaders do not work at the grassroots level, do not identify and do not solve problems on time, which is why crime has increased in some mahallas.

The main attention was paid to combating crime in mahallas, reducing the workload and increasing the efficiency of prevention inspectors’ activity.

“Which hokim received the prevention inspector and talked to him, inquired about his work schedule, the conditions of his family? All the big bosses give orders to the district police officer. He does everything at once, spends a lot of time, and the main work is unfulfilled. In reality, the hardest worker is the prevention inspector. If we create conditions for him, if he works, being satisfied with the state, many issues will be resolved”, the President said.

The task has been set to reduce paperwork and bureaucracy at all levels of the internal affairs system, and digitalize office work. It was noted that for this purpose a position of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs for Information Technologies is being introduced.

The instruction was given to raise the training of professional personnel for the sphere to a new stage, to increase the knowledge of prevention inspectors and investigators.

“The internal affairs officers serve the people day and night”, the President said. – We clearly saw this in a pandemic, in the days of the incidents in Bukhara and Sardoba. And in general, they are constantly working next to danger. All this should be taken into account when determining the number of wages. Therefore, this year, the salaries of all internal affairs officers will be increased by 30 percent, and those who are directly involved in ensuring public safety, that is, those who serve in the mahalla, will be increased by 60 percent.

At the meeting, the heads of some structures were dismissed from office.

Reports of the Minister of Internal Affairs, heads of territorial departments of law enforcement agencies, as well as the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and hokims of the regions were heard.
