The Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan adopted a Joint Statement following the meeting

TASHKENT, November 5. / Dunyo IA/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbayev, who arrived in Tashkent on a working visit, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The current state and prospects for further development of Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, water management and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed during the talks.

The Ministers considered interaction issues within the framework of multilateral structures, as well as regional and international issues. They expressed mutual interest in maintaining the positive dynamics of cooperation between Central Asian countries.

Views were also exchanged on joint efforts to combat the spread of coronavirus and minimize the impact of the pandemic on relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The Foreign Ministers stressed the importance of continuing to hold bilateral events, including the next round of Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Hokims (Plenipotentiaries) of the Border Regions of the two countries.

The commitment to previously reached agreements at the highest level was confirmed. The importance of strengthening the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan was noted.

The sides adopted a Joint Statement following the meeting.
