The Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and United Arab Emirates discussed a range of issues related to further strengthening bilateral relations

TASHKENT, November 10. / Dunyo IA. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates held political consultations via videoconference, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Furkat Sidikov, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar.

The parties conducted a thorough review of the state of bilateral relations with an emphasis on enhancing cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, exchanged views on the practical aspects of interaction within the UN, OIC, WTO and other international organizations.

The importance of deepening investment cooperation and building up tourist exchanges, especially in pilgrim tourism, was noted. Mutual interest was confirmed in enhancing the activities of Uzbekistan – UAE investment company to enhance the scale of the ongoing joint projects.

Special attention was paid to the issues related to the settlement of the conflict in Afghanistan, as well as prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE in the Afghan direction.
