In the light of the upcoming anniversary of the 28th Independence Day of Uzbekistan, “Dunyo” Information Agency corresponded interviewed the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Tashkent H.E. Mr. Sunaryo Kartadinata on the current state of the bilateral relations of our countries.Mr. Ambassador, our conversation is conducted on the eve of the celebration of the 28th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. What changes have you seen in Uzbekistan for the years of independence?

Uzbekistan has made significant progress since its independence 28 years ago to reform various fields. It strengthened its image not only within the country but also worldwide.

Efforts of the government of Uzbekistan in building a democratic state and a just society, where human interests come first show us that Uzbekistan is trying to continuously enhance and promote human development and human rights.

2019 was announced as the “Year of Support for Active Entrepreneurship, Innovative Ideas, and Technologies”. What do you think Uzbekistan has achieved within this year?

At this time, Uzbekistan is like a flower in bloom. Uzbekistan is a country that is developing rapidly towards an increasingly open, democratic, and modern society. This direction contains a message for the growth of creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation among the younger generation.

Uzbekistan plays a free and active and impartial political role that will avoid discriminatory attitudes. There is less bureaucracy, yet it will take time to increase the participation of the community. The economic sector seems to be moving forward. Investment is increasing along with openness and policy support.

Bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Indonesia have become more dynamic. How would you assess the current state of relations between our countries?

There are similarities in political attitudes between Indonesia and Uzbekistan, namely free and active political impartiality. This political position is the fundament for respecting and recognizing the sovereignty of each other and in building equal international cooperation.

This has enabled us to establish a trustworthy and mutually supportive political partnership in strengthening international cooperation to promote peace, justice and prosperity.

Bilateral relations between our countries are dynamically increasing, especially in enhancing cooperation in such areas as social culture, language and education. Collaboration in the field of economy and trade has not shown significant progress yet, but it has the potential to be improved and extended.

We are optimistic that the cooperation between Indonesia Uzbekistan in the future will be stronger and more productive.

Your wishes to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the Independence of our country.

I would like to extend my congratulations to the government and the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the 28th Independence Day. I hope and pray that the people of Uzbekistan will live in peace, prosperity and understanding with other nations of the world.
