President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited today the Second Perinatal Center erected in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent.
National programs are well in progress in our country to improve public health, in particular to protect motherhood and childhood. As helped by a presidential decree signed 8 November 2019, the quality of medical care has been growing and the coverage of women of reproductive age, pregnant women and children been expanding.
The Perinatal Center offers cutting-edge amenities building on the best practices of leading clinics. On the ground floor, it houses a multidisciplinary polyclinic, while the upper floors host patient rooms and general practice halls, including children’s intensive care unit. Here, it is possible to treat 140 patients at the same time.
The President got acquainted with the conditions created in the medical institution, talked with doctors through the askdoctor.uz online clinic program.
“The coronavirus pandemic has opened our eyes. It showed how important information technology is in medicine. However, neither the conditions nor the qualifications of the medical personnel are satisfactory. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a program based on the experience of advanced nations and accelerate the development of telemedicine in our country. This will help save time and money and ensure epidemiological safety. We must be wary and fully equipped to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in the future,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev insisted.
Instructions were given on the phased implementation of distance technologies in district hospitals and rural clinics, and the training of medical staff and the population in its use.
In the conference hall for 100 seats of the Perinatal Center, it is possible to conduct video sessions with domestic and foreign specialists.
The head of state examined the hall, and undercored that each clinic in Uzbekistan should have a partner abroad.
The Center’s building was erected on the basis of high quality, energy saving innovative construction materials. It provides with everything necessary for emergency medical care.
