TASHKENT, November 21. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met with physicians and educators working in Tashkent, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

“How can we secure high-quality healthcare and school education in Tashkent? This question has been worrying me a lot. I decided to meet with you to find out how these two systems work at the grassroots level and contemplate the right decisions,” Uzbekistan’s leader said.

The year 2020 has brought a great deal of challenges to all walks of life. Bоth doctors and teachers have had to work in new conditions.

“We united in the face of intricate trials. They made us look for ways out. Thus we have secured desired results,” the President suggested.

Meanwhile, the pandemic also showed areas where there are gaps, directions for further reform and development. It was for these purposes that presidential videoconferences on education and healthcare issues were held on October 30 and November 6. Building on the outcomes of the discussion and study of the proposals voiced at those meetings, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed decrees and resolutions to streamline education and science, introduce fundamentally new mechanisms in the activities of primary healthcare institutions, and widely promote healthy lifestyle.

At today’s meeting, the head of our state exchanged views with doctors and teachers on the importance of reforms in healthcare and education systems, on measures for their implementation at the basic level.

The President noted that citizens are dissatisfied with the healthcare system.

“If one talks to people leaving the hospital, they will tell everything. Many are from being content with the quality of medical services provided,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed out.

The head of state shared his vision on cementing healthy lifestyle among the population, introducing cutting-edge experience in early detection and treatment of diseases, and improving conditions in medical institutions.

The President underscored that the work of healthcare and education systems as parts of a single whole is an important factor in safeguarding the health of the population, in galvanizing the development of the younger generation.

“Healthcare and education systems constitute a bridge of justice between the state and the people,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev insisted. “Only when we all work with high dedication and integrity, fix these systems, will justice be ensured. The people will be pleased with our work. Tashkent should set the tone in this regard.”
