On August 4, 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov met with newly appointed Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malaysia, Azhar Azizan Harun, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
The state and priority directions of further development of Uzbekistan – Malaysia cooperation were discussed during the conversation.
The parties exchanged information on measures taken in Uzbekistan and Malaysia to counteract the spread of coronavirus and expressed their readiness to cooperate in this direction.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to further intensify cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, including by holding the next virtual forum between the parliaments of the two countries in September 2020 and exchanging visits in the post-pandemic period.
