The Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has held a briefing on Samarkand Web Forum.
Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov, Rector of Tashkent State University of Law Rakhimjon Khakimov and Chairman of Yuksalish Nationwide Movement Bobur Bekmurodov informed journalists about the goals of Samarkand Web Forum and issues to be discussed.
The event is planned to be attended by heads of UN Youth Structures, European Union, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Commonwealth of Independent States, African Union, representatives of diplomatic corps, international, regional and national human rights institutions, civil society institutions, youth organizations, scientists and experts – more than 1000 participants.
Participants will discuss in detail the issues related to ensuring the rights of youth, improving international and regional mechanisms in this direction.
The draft UN Convention on the Rights of Youth, prepared in accordance with proposals forwarded by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 72nd UN General Assembly Session, will be presented for the first time for discussion by leading world experts. During the discussion, each citizen will be able to express their suggestions and opinions.
