Geological Survey of Finland to implement a grant program in Uzbekistan

HELSINKI, March 14. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov met with the Director General of the Geological Survey of Finland Kimmo Tiilikainen, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

As Kimmo Tiilikainen noted, the Government of Finland has decided to implement the grant program for improving natural resource development skills to ensure national welfare in Uzbekistan. The total amount of the grant is newscat="politics".26 million (1.1 million euros). The implementation period is 2022-2025.

The project provides for assistance to the State Committee of Uzbekistan on Geology and Mineral Resources in improving the system of natural disaster risk management, modernizing the collection and dissemination of geodata, as well as monitoring groundwater resources.

The executor from the Finnish side is the Geological Survey under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, from the Uzbek side – the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources.
