Cooperation with South Korea in the fight against coronavirus continues

The staff of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul held a meeting with the Professor at Yonsei University, Moonsoo Yoon, who is the coordinator of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) project for assisting Uzbekistan in the fight against coronavirus.

As previously reported, the South Korean government has allocated million as a “comprehensive emergency aid” to combat COVID-19 in Uzbekistan.
 
In order to implement this project, a group of highly qualified medical specialists from South Korea, who will study the needs of Uzbekistan to improve the effectiveness of the fight against COVID-19, has been formed.
 
A group of South Korean specialists is planning to arrive in Uzbekistan in the coming days. According to Professor Moonsoo Yoon, the funds will be used to equip medical institutions with necessary equipment, improve the professional skills of medical personnel, develop mobile applications that provide information about COVID-19 and support socially vulnerable groups of the population with necessary personal protective equipment.
 
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further steps to deepen cooperation between KOICA and Uzbekistan and agreed to intensify joint work in this direction.
