This regulation provides a criterion for awarding scientists (including foreign citizens or candidates without citizenship) with the International Award of Al-Khwarizmi of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (further - Award) for providing solutions to a specific problem in the field of mathematics based on the results of conducted fundamental, practical and scientific research.
The award is given to a scientist for one or several discoveries in the field of mathematics.
The award will be given once in two years for the research on three directions (research on fundamental sector, research conducted by youth and research aimed in providing a solution for the problem from the real sector of the economy) based on recommendations of the Republic council of science and technology.
The list of candidates for the award is collected and presented by the Uzbek Mathematical Society through periodical observations.
A permanent committee to identify achievements in mathematics and to form an initial list of candidates of the International award of Al-Khwarizmi of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be formed in Uzbek Mathematical Society.
The committee will be formed from the expert members of the Uzbek Mathematical Society. The inclusion of the leading international experts, who are the members of the Uzbek Mathematical Society is allowed.
The winners will be awarded with equivalent financial prize of 50 thousand US dollars, which will be given once only.
The aw'ardees are recommended to participate in events conducted by the Uzbek Mathematical Society, to conduct scientific research in partnership with other scientists from Uzbekistan and to implement the results of the scientific discoveries in the field of mathematics in Uzbekistan (including the awarded discovery).
The given materials on candidates for the award will be registered following the predefined procedures and will be stored without return.
