Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Now about 10,000 patients are being treated in hospitals in Uzbekistan, and another 3,000 are undergoing home treatment. This was announced today by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The head of Uzbekistan once again called on citizens to be vaccinated against coronavirus.

The President noted that in the second half of June and July in Uzbekistan, the incidence rates rose sharply. He said that the daily increase in new cases averages 750-800, and for pneumonia - 450-500 cases.

According to the head of Uzbekistan, now about 10,000 patients are being treated in hospitals and another 3,000 are undergoing home treatment. At the same time, he noted that the condition of 2,400 people is assessed as grave and 890 - extremely grave.

President noted that citizens need to observe three important conditions to overcome the pandemic with less losses and prevent new waves of disease.

According to the President, vaccination is the most important condition for protecting against the virus and overcoming it. He noted that 13 million doses of 4 types of vaccines were delivered to Uzbekistan.

“The population now has a choice of which vaccine to vaccinate. This is a worldwide recognized protection. There is no other way,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Uzbek President noted that the day before he signed a law aimed at expanding the level of vaccination in the country. The document gives employers the right not to allow an employee who has refused preventive vaccination to work.

The head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the observance of personal hygiene and social distance, as well as the mask regime in public places, is also an important condition.

Mirziyoyev stressed that the population does not comply with these rules. Despite the restrictions, they do not stop hosting weddings and events with a large number of guests, he added.

Uzbek leader underlined that it is necessary to take measures to prevent the unauthorized and indiscriminate taking of medicines by patients whose disease is mild and who are treated at home. He added that improper home treatment has dire consequences.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev set a task for the leaders of the healthcare sector to establish systemic control over patients at home treatment and inform them about the correct procedure for treatment.
