Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan

TASHKENT, March 11. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, in Islamabad, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the minister conveyed a message from the President of Uzbekistan to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The parties discussed key aspects of the bilateral agenda, promising areas for further development of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

The main attention was paid to the regional issues, primarily ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan.

In this context, views were exchanged on cooperation in the implementation of infrastructure projects to help restore the Afghan economy, the most important of which is the Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway connection. This will allow access to the Pakistani seaports of Karachi and Gwadar to increase the trade turnover both between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, and Central and South Asia.
