On July 22, 2019, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov held talks with Joseph Adaikalam, the Executive Chairman of Binary University of Management and Entrepreneurship.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, issues of creation of a branch of Binary University in Uzbekistan and establishment of cooperation with El-Yurt Umidi Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the country were discussed at the meeting.
The Malaysian side announced the beginning in September 2019 of training the first group of masters at Uzbekistan – Malaysia faculty in cooperation with Binary University of Management and Entrepreneurship, operating on the basis of Tashkent Institute of Finance. Upon graduation, graduates will be issued the appropriate diplomas of two higher education institutions.
Joseph Adaikalam informed about the decision to allocate 10 educational grants in the amount of about 100 thousand US dollars to El-Yurt Umidi Foundation for training in magistracy by Uzbekistan citizens in Malaysia.
The readiness of the Malaysian side to expand its activities in Uzbekistan was noted. In this regard, the parties discussed prospects of opening a branch of Binary University in one of the regions of Uzbekistan to distribute education institutions of international level throughout the country and form Uzbekistan as an education hub of Central Asia.
An agreement was reached on organizing the visit of the Executive Chairman of Binary University to Uzbekistan in September 2019 to hold negotiations in relevant agencies of the country in order to discuss the conditions for opening a branch of Binary University and allocating education grants to El-Yurt Umidi Foundation.
