Initiatives of Uzbekistan and China leaders to combat the pandemic discussed in Beijing

BEIJING, November 25. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in China hosted a briefing on “Uzbekistan and China on the “Healthy Silk Road”: Development of traditional Chinese and Uzbek traditional medicine. Prospects for cooperation in distance medicine”, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The event was organized following the SCO summit, during which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev forwarded a number of relevant initiatives on the introduction of new distance technologies in healthcare and development of the SCO Cooperation Concept in telemedicine.

The event was attended by the Chinese Government’s Special Envoy on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui, the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Jiangxi Province, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China’s SCO Committee on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.

Chinese Government’s Special Envoy noted that now, when the world is faced with the coronavirus pandemic, the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan to introduce the telemedicine system into healthcare and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to promote the Healthy Silk Road seem more relevant than ever. According to him, the introduction of new remote technologies into the healthcare system will help strengthen cooperation, exchange experience, improve the qualifications of specialists in diagnostics, prevention and treatment of various diseases.

The Chinese participants highly appreciated the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan voiced during the SCO summit held on November 10. They emphasized their consonance and complementarity with the proposals made by the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping at the SCO Meeting of the Heads of State.
