ROME, May 21. /“Dunyo” IA/. Representatives of Uzbek Embassy in Rome and BMB Trade Group discussed investment projects with President of Italian company Opera SRL Paolo de Angelis, informs “Dunyo” correspondent.
The agenda included cultivation and processing of saffron in the Bakhmal district of the Jizzakh region with further exporting to Italy.
Parties noted that the project is one of the most significant on the agenda of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Its implementation will allow to attract advanced Italian experience and technologies. It will also develop strategic partnership in establishment of a cluster of medicinal plants in Uzbekistan.
During the videoconference, heads of two companies exchanged views on the joint efforts being made to implement planned activities since the signing of the cooperation agreement.
As noted by Paolo De Angelis, Bakhmal district of Jizzakh region might become one of the largest international centers for cultivation and procession of saffron over the next 5 years.
The Uzbek party expressed appreciation for the efforts are being taken by Italian partner. Noteworthy, collaboration with Opera SRL has not been suspended despite restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic in Italy and Uzbekistan.
