TASHKENT, February 12. /“Dunyo” IA/. An open-air museum, including the ancient Gijduvan fortress together with the shrine “Khoja Abdukholik Gijduvani” will be opened in Gijduvan district of Bukhara region, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the State Committee for Tourism Development, large-scale work is being carried out together with the hokimiyats of regions and districts and officials of the regional tourism development department to create a “Tourist mahalla” based on Kurgan and Chorsu mahallas.
Systematic work is underway to further increase the tourism potential of the region while preserving the existing objects of historical, tangible and cultural heritage in Kurgan and Chorsu mahallas.
Under the guidance of international experts and the International Institute for Central Asian Studies, Uzbekistan is reconstructing and restoring ancient sites such as the 19th-century mosques Bozori Qaymoq, Boborakhimboy and the Old Stone Bathhouse of the 16th century.
Two pavilions in the national style are arranged in front of Bozori Qaymoq Mosque for the convenience of guests. An old stone bathhouse of the 16th century, located in the old district of Kurgan, has been reopened and is ready to be used as a historical building.
