Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan delivered a speech at the FAO Regional Conference for Europe

TASHKENT, May 12. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev delivered a speech at the 33rd Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

From May 10 to 13, the Thirty-third Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe (ERC) is being held in a hybrid format in the city of Lodz (Poland) and open to all FAO Members in the European and Central Asian regions.

Held every two years, the FAO Regional Conference for Europe is an official forum where Ministers of Agriculture and other high officials from all Member States of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the region meet to debate challenges related to food and agriculture, promoting regional coherence and sustainability of the food systems in the region.

Speaking at the conference, the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev presented a report on the results of the 32nd session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe, of which he was elected as Chairperson in November 2020.

As Vladimir Rakhmanin, FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia stressed, “In his speech, Minister Khodjaev reflected all elements of the work that has been implemented in Uzbekistan since the 32nd session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe, where he served as Chairperson. In this context, he addressed issues related to food security, agri-food systems and many other areas. The Minister also stressed the importance of cooperation between the countries of the region and cooperation with FAO. The FAO Regional Office is grateful to Minister Khodjaev for his productive and constructive chairmanship of the Regional Conference in 2020-2022. We look forward to continuing effective cooperation with Uzbekistan at the regional and global levels.”
