Actual tasks for the introduction of a new system of work to support entrepreneurship in mahallas were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 January, a meeting was held under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov on organizing practical activities on the new "mahallabay" work system and ensuring employment in 2022.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Investment and Foreign Trade, heads of subordinate organizations and structural divisions of the Ministry, as well as heads of local authorities of the regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the city of Tashkent, responsible for the field of investment and foreign trade, who participated in the event via videoconferencing.

During the meeting, the tasks set by the Head of State to improve the work on developing entrepreneurship and reducing poverty in the context of mahallas were comprehensively discussed. The key priority was to ensure a radical increase in the level of socio-economic development in mahallas through targeted work with the population, creating opportunities for their involvement in production and entrepreneurship and providing the necessary support in the implementation of projects, meaning the provision of land and financial resources to start their own business and solving administrative issues.

Operative measures for the introduction of a new business support system in mahallas, as well as practical aspects of work on the ground, were considered. Particular attention was paid to the need for a thorough study of the current state of socio-economic development in mahallas, identifying the need to improve infrastructure, repair and build drinking water supply networks, kindergartens, schools, medical institutions, cultural centers, which will significantly improve the quality of life of the local population.

It was instructed to organize field work of the heads of the structural divisions of the Ministry in the regions of the country in order to study the economic potential of mahallas, direct interaction with the population and local entrepreneurs, as well as to assist the employees of the regional divisions of the Ministry in establishing work on a new business support system.

Also, responsible managers were given additional instructions for the qualitative and timely implementation of the tasks.
