Deputy Foreign Minister and Director of KOICA Uzbekistan discuss the implementation of joint projects

TASHKENT, January 21. /Dunyo IA/. On January 19, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov has held virtual talks with the Director of KOICA Uzbekistan Ms. Park Sunjin, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed prospects for further development of cooperation, in particular, the implementation of joint projects in education, healthcare, information and communication technologies, and other areas.

The Director of KOICA Uzbekistan noted that the South Korean side welcomes the initiatives of Uzbekistan leadership to support youth and improve the health of the nation and is interested in building up projects in these areas with the involvement of the private sector.

It was also emphasized that KOICA supports Uzbekistan’s efforts to achieve peace in Afghanistan and the economic recovery of this country. The Agency is ready to assist in this direction by participating in the implementation of the initiatives of the Uzbek side for the socio-economic reconstruction of Afghanistan. In particular, the South Korean side plans to send volunteers to the Training Center for Afghan Citizens in Termez after the epidemiological situation improves.

Following the talks, agreements were reached on comprehensive support and promotion of the implementation of significant joint social projects.
