This festival has excellent prestige on a global scale. This can be judged by the talented artists and outstanding creative groups arriving at the festival today. Most importantly, many foreign tourists have arrived in the country as guests and have been eagerly awaiting their songs and melodies for several days.
We had the opportunity to speak with a few of them, each with their unique perspective and experience of the festival.
“I work in marketing”, says tourist Haroon Tahir from Pakistan. “But I care about art, especially music. I have heard about the “Sharq Taronalari” Festival and am very happy that I got the opportunity to participate in it as a spectator. It should be noted that many preparations are underway in Samarkand for this event. Songs and music are ambassadors of goodness and peace, so let there be more such events, and “Sharq Taronalari” melodies sound louder!”
Representatives of the arts and experts note that today, attention to music and art is more important than ever. Music, with its universal language, is a powerful force that can bridge cultural divides and unite people of different nationalities, religious views, and linguistic features.
“It is no coincidence that UNESCO recognizes this festival as a major international cultural forum”, says tourist Osman Bakhit from Sudan. “Through oriental melodies, Samarkand calls the world to goodness and solidarity. I think that today, the eyes of millions of people on our planet are riveted to Registan Square, which, as we know from history, has more than once become a place of attraction for people of art, culture, and science. I can say the following: this event will further enrich our understanding of your country and the Uzbek people”.
