Issues of enhancing cooperation in culture and art discussed in Tokyo

TOKYO, November 13. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador Gayrat Fazilov has held a meeting with the new chief of the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Ryohei Miyata, in Tokyo, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

It was emphasized that during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019, the Uzbek and Japanese sides expressed their readiness to intensify cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including the joint celebration in 2022 of the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and holding the Year of Culture.

According to Ryohei Miyata, the beautiful building of the State Academic Grand Theatre of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi in Tashkent, created with participation of interned Japanese, has become a symbol of friendship and close cultural communication between the Japanese and Uzbeks.

The chief of the Agency emphasized that the celebration of the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations is an important date for Japan and Uzbekistan. In this context, he expressed his readiness to assist in holding cultural events in the two countries.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue working contacts with the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan and interaction to work out all the discussed issues in cultural cooperation.
