It should be noted that for the first time in the Far East, the federal museum presents one of its most valuable collections.

The “Baburnama” miniatures are one of the pearls in the collection of the State Museum of Oriental Art. The manuscripts have been attracting the attention of researchers for over a hundred years, since their first publication. This is an excellent example of the early Mughal school of Indian miniature. 57 sheets contain 69 miniatures, which depict domestic and genre scenes – court feasts, hunting, military operations, as well as flora and fauna of India – illustrations to the notes of the founder of the Mughal Empire Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur (1483-1530).

During the exhibition, a lecture “Illustrations for “Baburnama” from the collection of the State Museum of Oriental Art” was held at the Primorsky State Art Gallery.

The exhibition will run until February 14, 2021.
