Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Latvia discuss prospects of collaboration

RIGA, March 9. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov has held virtual talks with the Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Latvia Dana Goldfinča, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the course of preparation for the upcoming bilateral contacts at various levels and issues of interaction within the UN and other international multilateral structures.

The interlocutor stated Latvia’s commitment to taking practical steps aimed at a significant intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan.

It was emphasized that Riga is showing interest in increasing the level of partnership with Tashkent. They reaffirmed their readiness by joint efforts to fill the cooperation agenda with new practical content within the framework of the upcoming contacts at various levels.

The readiness of Latvia to support the aspirations of Uzbekistan for the country to obtain the status of a GSP+ beneficiary country and to sign the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the European Union was noted.

Following the event, an agreement was reached with the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Latvia to maintain regular working contacts and exchange views and relevant information related to the agenda of cooperation.
