The frequency of strokes in people has been increasing lately. To provide timely aid to patients with this disease, the Republican Specialized Center of Surgical Angioneurology is being established on the basis of the 2nd Clinic of the Tashkent Medical Academy.

The new center will form an effective system of prevention and treatment of diseases associated with chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency through the introduction of modern methods of surgical treatment of patients with stenoses of carotid arteries.

40 patients can be treated here simultaneously. It is planned that the maintenance of 20 beds will be financed via extrabudgetary funds derived fr om the provision of medical services on a fee basis.

The new clinic will become the coordinating point in the field of angioneurology wh ere an effective vertical of the methodical guidance on the introduction of modern methods for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular insufficiency, primarily in the practice of regional medical institutions will be created.

The center will also coordinate the preparation and advanced training of angioneurologists, the organization of master classes and the conduct of trial operations, teaching lectures and seminars in regional medical institutions.

There will be also made scientific researches in this area.

In addition, the center will elaborate a national stroke registry in Uzbekistan and will carry out a continuous analysis for the incidence of chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency.
