Vocational training centers will be opened in Samarkand and Shakhrisabz PDF Print E-mail

Workshop within the “Project for the establishment of Vocational training centre in the city of Shahrisabz and consulting on capacity building of vocational training in Uzbekistan” was held recently in Tashkent.

The event, organized by the Ministry of labor and social protection of population of the Republic, in partnership with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) mission, was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, agencies and organizations in the country, experts of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Korea, the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET), as well as local experts in the area.

The purpose of the workshop was to discuss aspects of the current system of training and the development of the project’s master plan.

The meeting noted that the results of reform and modernization of the training system in the country are a solid basis for the creation of vocational training centers.

It stressed that Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea are the time-tested reliable strategic partners, and cooperation between the two countries is developing in all directions. In 2012, Tashkent has opened such a center. Today, the intergovernmental agreements on the establishment of similar institutions in the cities of Samarkand and Shakhrisabz are signed.

At the end of the seminar, local consultants were selected, who will be to work closely with the aforementioned Korean institutions on the project implementation for two years.
