The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Singapore conducted a presentation of the economic and investment potential of our country. The event took place in the office of the WilmarInternational which specializes in the production of palm oil, cultivation of various varieties of palm trees.

It should be noted that the Wilmar International is one of the largest in its industry with offices in 50 countries, 500 processing plants in 15 countries and a staff of over 90 thousand people. In 2016, the company's total assets exceeded 37 billion US dollars.

During the event, the participants got acquainted with the achievements of Uzbekistan in various fields, programs to modernize the economy. At the same time, Singapore entrepreneurs were able to learn about the benefits and preferences offered to foreign investors in the free economic zones of Uzbekistan.

As a part of the presentation, an exchange of views was carried out on establishing cooperation with the Wilmar International in the context of the plans of the Singapore company related to the expansion of the number of plants for the production of fat and oil products, including cottonseed oil.

Speaking to the audience, member of the Board of Directors of the Wilmar International V.Vasudevan noted that for a rather short period of independent development, our country has achieved significant successes, including in the formation and advancement of entrepreneurship. According to him, the macroeconomic indicators of Uzbekistan, the results of effective implementation of state programs aimed at modernizing, technical and technological re-equipment of production deserve high praise.

In turn, the Wilmar International Financial Director Ho Kiam Kong expressed interest in establishing business ties with Uzbek enterprises. Taking into account the volumes of the Uzbek market and modern production infrastructure, the financier stressed, the company can act as a reference point for joint development of the markets of Central Asian countries.
