Uzbekistan and Turkey discuss prospects of economic relations PDF Print E-mail

Ankara hosted a conference on "Economic relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan", which was organised in cooperation with the Eurasian Association of economic relations. The main purpose of the event was the presentation of economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan, exchanging views on prospects of cooperation in this direction.

 

The event saw Chairman of Turkish-Uzbek inter-parliamentary group H. Yildiz, heads and representatives of Turkish ministries, agencies, chambers of commerce, large companies in the textile, pharmaceutical, tourism, leather industry, according to IA "Jahon".

 

The conference participants were informed about ongoing in Uzbekistan reforms in the economic and social spheres, available favourable investment climate, as well as state and prospects of Uzbek-Turkish relations in the trade-economic sphere.

 

The event also presented investment projects in the tourism industry, including renovation of hotels, creation of recreation zones with the participation of leading companies.

 

In his speech, Deputy Minister of science, industry and technology of Turkey H. Celik said that in the coming years the volume of mutual trade between the countries, which today comprises $1.2 billion, will increase by 2-3 times.
